SURVIVOR SPEAKOUT GUIDELINES TO ATTEND A LIVE, ONLINE VICTIM IMPACT PANEL USING ZOOM

Survivor Speakout online is a 2-hour live online presentation, not a recorded class. Read the guidelines below. It is your responsibility to ensure that your county accepts online victim impact panels. Ask your probation officer.

Johnson County, Indiana does not accept online panels.

  • The guidelines for attending online are the same as if you were attending in person.
  • You must pay your $55.00 fee immediately after registering.
  • You will be provided a Zoom link in an email a few days before the live, online victim impact panel date you are scheduled to attend.
  • You must join the panel 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
  • Only court ordered offenders are allowed to attend a Survivor Speakout live, online victim impact panel.
  • You must have a laptop, pad or computer with an operational webcam and microphone, and a reliable internet connection, to attend a live, online victim impact panel. You cannot attend using a cell phone.
  • Cell phones must be turned off.
  • If you do not have a good quality, reliable internet connection do not register for the online session.
  • It is highly recommended that you turn off anything at your location using WIFI other than the device you will be using during your scheduled appointment.
  • To be eligible for this victim impact panel there cannot be anything or anyone at your location that may cause distractions or interfere with you, the presenter or other participants. Distractions include, but are not limited to: music, TV, radio, background noise of any kind, children, spouses, pets, etc.
  • If you are late to your scheduled online victim impact panel for any reason you will not be allowed to attend.
  • You must be alone in a private room during the live, online victim impact panel.
  • You must be sitting up, clearly paying attention, and looking at the screen the entire time.
  • Your face must be clearly visible on camera for the entire live, online victim impact panel or you will NOT get credit for attending.
  • You must be respectful and not display anything in the background that may be offensive.
  • No hats, food, smoking, vaping or beverages will be allowed during the live, online victim impact panel.
  • You must be clearly paying attention and looking at the screen the entire time. If it is determined that you are not paying attention you will be given one warning.
  • If it is determined that you are still not paying attention after one warning you will be removed from the session and NOT get credit for attending.
  • If you fall asleep you will be removed after one warning.
  • If it is determined that you are unable to abide by all of the guidelines after given one warning you will be removed from the session and NOT get credit for attending.
  • Please use the restroom prior to joining the panel.
  • If you leave the panel at any time for any reason, you will be removed from the session and will not get credit for attending.
  • You must be dressed appropriately during the online victim impact panel.
  • If for any reason the live online victim impact panel you schedule is cancelled or postponed you may reschedule for another  available IN PERSON or ONLINE victim impact panel date. You will not be charged another fee.
  • If weather or any other act of nature cause a disruption in electrical power you may reschedule for our next available IN PERSON or ONLINE victim impact panel date. You will not be charged another fee.
  • If you are removed from the victim impact panel due to any distraction on your part, or you are unable to meet all of the guidelines, you may reschedule for our next available IN PERSON victim impact panel date. You will be required to register and pay the in-person fee to attend.
  • If you are not able to abide by all of the guidelines, please do not register for the online session.
  • Your probation officer will be notified after your successful completion of the live, online victim impact panel.
  • Your probation officer will be notified if you are removed from the online victim impact panel due to your voluntary inability to not abide by the guidelines.
  • If you are on a diversion plea you will need to request a confirmation letter from us that you can present to the court through your attorney.
  • There are NO REFUNDS for any reason.
